Furthermore, we have attached solar modules to our roofs and facades, and we use them to generate electricity. With a total of two large plants, we generate
over 340,000 KWh of electricity each year. Yet it isn’t our company that owns this solar equipment – a group of employees does, who joined together to demonstrate
their bond with our company and our mutual belief in photovoltaics. These employees financed the equipment themselves and, as a result, they profit from feeding
the electricity back into the grid and the resulting compensation. The first module, put into operation in 2004, generates 100 KW. The second module generates 237
KW, and was brought into service in December of 2009. Our company also owns two smaller solar facade systems that generate 8 KW and 16 KW, respectively, and this
equipment demonstrates the architecturally sophisticated integration of solar modules into facades. All in all, these modules generate approximately 340,000 KWh
of green electricity annually, covering a large part of our company’s energy use.
