In exclusive collaboration with adidas, Manz develops automated and flexible production technologies for sports items, particularly shoes and clothing.
In the future, local shoe production in "Speed Factories" will allow adidas to manufacture shoes that are individualized, resource-saving and economical at the consumer's location.
The additive manufacturing process that we developed can be used for almost all light-weight components and textiles that are used in the manufacture of sports items.
Possible areas of application are, for example, the manufacture of snowboards and skis, as well as kiteboards, wakeboards, surfboards, helmets and protectors, and bicycle, rowboat and sailboat components.
Additive manufacturing technologies are assuming an increasingly significant role with increasing individualization of final products.
The global establishment of automated production based on individual customer requests in regional sales markets enables for our customers:
- Unique selling points through new product features and individualized products
- Independence from labor-intensive manual production in Asia
- Shorter shipping routes and delivery times as well as lower shipping costs
- Greater flexibility and responsiveness to technical market developments and trends.
