At our entity in Sasso Marconi, Italy, we are seeking a System automation engineer (m/f/d) to support the market-driven development of new production lines for the battery market of the future.

Your responsibilities

  • Building Systems Architecture Engineering strategy including system project engineering, systems design and performance, system reliability, maintainability, and safety
  • Creating, implementing, and monitoring this technology by translating customer/user needs into an automation implementation strategy to achieve the customer's production goals
  • Working closely with colleagues within project teams, such as mechanical, electrical, software and validation teams, defining the machine and line process
  • Providing flow diagrams, function descriptions and functional diagrams that all members will further develop for their own parts, sharing the strategy with V&V test engineers, including transferring and delivering the functional characteristics and their assembly for testing and validation
  • Supporting the software developer in the control loop strategy and help the software developer decide what actions to take and then send these instructions to the actuators

Your profile

  • MSc degree in Electronic/Automation/Electric/Mechatronics Engineering, PhD would be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of Control Theory
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink and with logistic process simulation tools
  • Basic knowledge of PLC software integrator with sensors in place within the manufacturing process will be considered a plus
  • English B2
  • Organizing and problem-solving skills
  • Team working and results oriented
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential
  • You will be qualified to at least Degree level in engineering, manufacturing or a related discipline, or have the equivalent training and experience
  • Demonstrated customer facing skills are essential
  • Be comfortable with operating in a multi-site working environment
  • Knowledgeable of Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacture, Assembly & Test (DFMAT)
  • Strong analytical capability
