Manz AG reacts to corona pandemic and suspends business operations at its German locations and its Italian location until Easter

03/20/2020 11:01:00 CET In view of the restrictions in private and business life, efficient work processes are currently not possible at the German locations or in Italy | Protection of employees, business partners and their families | Sales activities will continue unchanged at the affected locations | Business operations at the remaining locations worldwide can currently be continued unchanged | Management Board reviews further developments and their possible effects on the previous planning for 2020; forecast for 2020 will be published as scheduled on March 26, 2020

Manz AG, a global high-tech engineering company with a comprehensive technology portfolio, will suspend business operations at its German locations in Reutlingen and Tübingen and its Italian location for around three weeks as a result of current Covid19 developments in Europe and the measures prescribed and recommended by the German federal government and the European Commission. Sales activities will be continued entirely from the home office, with a minimum staffing level at both locations to ensure a quick response to short-term inquiries from business partners.

Martin Drasch, Manz AG's CEO: "The measures that are currently affecting all of us in both our private and business lives are unique. The closure of schools and kindergartens, extensive travel restrictions or even restrictions in the retail sector are affecting both us and our business partners - this does not currently make efficient workflows possible. Against this background, and for the protection of our employees, our business partners and their families, we have therefore decided to shut down business operations in an orderly manner and to suspend them from the coming week until 9 April 2020 inclusive. The affected sites have a strong focus on research and development activities that cannot be efficiently carried out in the home office without the appropriate infrastructure."

Almost 550 employees are affected by the measures. Business operations at the other locations can currently continue unchanged. In view of the well-filled order books, the Management Board does not currently see any significant negative effects on the previous planning for the 2020 financial year as a result of the measures taken. The further development of the corona crisis and its possible effects on the further development of the business are continuously evaluated by the Management Board.
