Experienced Professionals 

 

In which areas are employees with professional experience predominantly sought?

Manz is primarily looking for experienced employees in the engineering professions, particularly design, software and process development and project management. Of course we also happily give qualified and dedicated young people just starting their careers a chance.

Does Manz need managers?

Experienced managers who are dedicated and have a pronounced focus on results are absolutely key to the long-term success of a growing company like Manz AG. That's why we promote our own employees with the right potential and interest to fill management positions, but also choose "external" candidates to fill them to continually bring fresh wind into the company.

Can I pursue advanced training internally?

Yes, that's what we launched the Manz Academy for. Based on the company's needs, the Manz Academy plans, organizes, and manages internal and external advanced training measures. In this context, we ensure that the training courses meet your needs exactly, and that the training is beneficial to both sides – you as the employee and Manz as the company. The advanced training measures are discussed and evaluated by Managers and employees in retrospect during the annual performance reviews.
As a company, moreover, we offer a wide variety of internal advancement opportunities in the form of specialist and management career paths.

What are my chances of getting a job directly after college?

We always accept applications from recent college graduates, since we have many entry-level positions that we like to fill with young people just beginning their careers. In addition to being qualified in the specific field and ideally having gained initial professional experience, you also need to have the right kind of personality.

From which fields of study are graduates particularly in demand?

Depending on the position and the area of business, we are looking for graduates in a number of different fields. In general, we hire college graduates with degrees in mathematics, computer science, science, or technological fields such as mechatronics, electrical engineering, control / production / automation / process engineering, mechanical engineering, IT, physics, chemistry and economists.

 

Interns

 

Which fields of study are in particular demand?

We primarily offer internships for the following fields of study: electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, laser technology, process engineering, computer engineering and business administration / industrial engineering.

How long does an mandatory internship last? How many hours do interns work each week?

At least five months, but six months is the preferred length of time. Interns work 40 hours each week.

Is it a paid mandatory internship?

Yes, our interns are paid.

Do interns get paid vacation?

Depending on the length of the internship, interns receive paid vacation on a pro rata basis.

Are internships reserved for those completing mandatory internships or are voluntary internships also available?

We offer both voluntary and mandatory internships.

Student Trainees

 

In which fields of study are student trainee positions offered?

We primarily offer student trainee positions for the following fields of study: electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, laser technology, process engineering, computer engineering, physics, chemistry, and business administration / industrial engineering.

How long does the student trainee job last and how many hours a week do student trainees work?

Initially student trainees are hired for a period of six months, although this period of time can be extended. During the semester up to 20 hours per week can be worked. During vacations up to 40 hours per week are possible. The actual average working time per week is agreed individually.

How much are student trainees paid?

The compensation depends on whether you are currently in a bachelor's or master's degree program.

Do student trainees get paid vacation?

Depending on the length of the student trainee job, they receive paid vacation on a pro rata basis.

Thesis (Bachelor or Master)

Which fields of study are in particular demand?

We primarily look for students in the following fields of study to complete their final project at our company: electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, laser technology, process engineering, computer engineering, physics, chemistry, and business administration / industrial engineering.

How long are students preparing thesis employed for?

Between four and six months.

Is this form of employment paid?

Yes, students who complete their thesis are paid.

Are students required to be physically present when preparing a thesis?

Students are not required to be present. The Manz employee overseeing the thesis will determine when the student has to be present or will coordinate this with the student. That is why you don't have a fixed weekly schedule and get paid vacation when completing a thesis at Manz.

Vocational Training

What are the prerequisites for entering a vocational training program at Manz?

The requirements vary from program to program and are explained briefly in the individual listings. In general, you should have received good grades in high school, be able to work in an independent and disciplined manner, be reliable, dedicated, and work well as part of a team.

How long does a vocational training program last?

The exact length is noted in the respective listing. The length of a vocational training program can be reduced with good performance.

How much do vocational trainees get paid during the training?

Our trainees receive a competitive monthly trainees’ salary as well as capital-forming benefits and a monthly meal allowance.

Is it possible to spend time abroad during vocational training?

Yes, at one of our international locations.

What are the chances of being hired after completing the vocational training?

Manz offers vocational training to cover its own needs. As a result, our goal is to offer an open-ended employment contract to trainees who have impressed us with their performance. However, we cannot offer any guarantees in this regard.

Dual System Study

What are the prerequisites for entering a vocational training program at Manz?

The requirements vary from program to program and are explained briefly in the individual listings. In general, you should have received good grades in high school, be able to work in an independent and disciplined manner, be reliable, dedicated, and work well as part of a team.

With what universities and colleges exists a cooperation?

Manz has a cooperation with DHBW Stuttgart. You can find out which degree program is offered at which location in the respective listing.

How long does a dualy system study last?

A dual system study lasts three years. The exact length is noted in the respective listing.

Is it possible to spend time abroad?

Yes, at one of our international locations.

How much is the compensation?

Our dual students receive a competitive monthly salary as well as capital-forming benefits and a monthly meal allowance. Furthermore, Manz pays the tuition fees.

What are the chances of being hired after completing a dual system study?

Application Process

What entry-level opportunities does Manz offer?

Manz offers entry-level opportunities as part of a vocational training, a dual study program, a student job (student trainee, internship, thesis), direct entry for graduates, and entry for experienced professionals, specifically for specialist and management careers.

How does Manz prefer to receive applications?

You are welcome to apply via our career portal for one of our job offers or as an unsolicited application.

Can I send an unsolicited application?

We publish all our vocational training, study and job vacancies online in our job exchange. We therefore ask applicants to apply directly to the respective job posting. If there is no suitable vacancy, you are welcome to submit an unsolocoted application stating the desired field of activity.

 

What does a promising application look like?

Whether applying via the online portal, by e-mail or by post, please ensure that the documents are complete. This includes a cover letter, a complete curriculum vitae in table form and certificates (e.g. work, school, internship, training certificate, diploma, master's or bachelor's degree certificate, and student performance records).

Our online application form consists of one page, which should be filled out completely if possible. In addition, attachments must be uploaded, preferably as a compressed PDF file. The size of all attachments together must not exceed 5 MB.

 

How does Manz conduct the selection process?

After the pre-selection based on the written documents, a interview takes place with the responsible HR Business Partner and the supervisor from the specialist department. The second selection interview often provides an opportunity to meet colleagues and gain an impression of the workplace.

In the selection process for student applicants, there is usually only one interview with the responsible HR Business Partner and the supervisor / a representative from the specialist department.

Vocational students are given an aptitude test before the personal interview with the responsible trainers, as well as the opportunity to take a tour of the training workshop.

It may take some time to review the application documents. We give our best to provide feedback as soon as possible.

How can I prepare for my job interview? What can I expect during the job interview?

It is important to think about what you are good at and what you are less good at. What the expectations of the position are and why the desired activity and also Manz fit the personality and skills.

You are welcome to write down questions in advance that should be clarified during the interview.
