Job description
At our entity in Sasso Marconi (Bologna), Italy, we are seeking a Researcher (m/f/d) to support the market-driven development of new production lines for the battery market of the future.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality research for a project funded in the frame of a Horizon Europe call, which aims to generate new cell manufacturing processes
- Determine suitable key performance indicators (KPIs) for the design-to-manufacture for lithium-ion battery production, interacting with leading industrial partners
- Define standard operating procedures and guidelines for the mass production of lithium-ion batteries
- Develop digital twins of gigafactories for lithium-ion battery production using dedicated simulation environments
- Interact with the academic and industrial partners of the projects, attending regular meetings and workshops
- Lead the production of the deliverables for the project, including technical reports, guidelines, software
- Publish the results in leading international conferences and journals
- Contribute to the supervision of student research projects (internships & theses)
- Close coordination with the process team of Future Battery Technologies
Your profile
- The ideal candidate is a technologist with an engineering background and scientific attitude
- Master’s degree in chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, computer scientist or a related discipline (chemistry, physics)
- Strong interest in the energy storage field to support the ecological transition towards renewable energy sources
- A PhD or equivalent degree is an advantage
- Experience with funded research, e.g., by Horizon Europe, is desirable
- Independent, structured, and accurate way of working with a high willingness to familiarize yourself with our product range and new requirements
- Creativity team-oriented personality and problem-solving skill are recommended to get the job done
- Ability to interface to international academic and industrial partners
- Very good English skills as well as willingness to travel complete your profile
