Reutlingen, March 9, 2010 – Manz Automation AG’s Managing Board and employees are mourning the loss of the Chairman of the company’s Supervisory Board, who died suddenly and unexpected last weekend. Dr. Wittig had supported the Reutlingen-based company since it became an Aktiengesellschaft (German Public Limited Company) in 2001. He provided the company with valuable impetus and in addition he fully supported the successful IPO.
Dieter Manz, Manz Automation AG’s CEO: “We are devastated by the loss of Dr. Wittig – a long-standing friend of our company. At the same time our sympathies are also with his family and relatives. Dr. Wittig did a lot for our company – we will remember him fondly for his work.”
The Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Prof. Dr. Heiko Aurenz, will temporarily take over the role of the Chairman. In addition, a third member of the Supervisory Board will be appointed by the court for the interim period in order to ensure that the Supervisory Board remains quorate, until a new member of the Supervisory Board can be elected by the General Meeting on June 22, 2010.
